Handmade, one of a kind bracelets

THAT FIGHT FOR ADVOCASY FOR PEOPLE WITH SICKLE CELL DISEASE.

Lilly was born on December 19th, 2013. Her big brother Isaiah, a Sickle Cell warrior, was always her biggest love! Now, at 10, Lilly came up with a plan to help others like her brother, by giving back to a program he participated in called Next Step, while doing something she loves to do! CREATE!

Next Step is a non- profit in the Boston area that "shatters limitations & elevates aspirations of young people with serious illness during their transition to adulthood". Visit NextStepNet.Org to learn more about their organization.

With each item sold, Lilly plans to give back to this important organization, while also help shed a light on the importance of Sickle Cell awareness. Lilly also helps to personally help other sickle cell warriors with things like heating pads and water bottles to help them cope with the disease. If you are a warrior, or know one in need, please reach out!

  • WHAT is Sickle Cell?!

People who have SCD have to inherit two of the same genes, one from each parent. Hemoglobin S is an abnormal form of hemoglobin that causes the red cells to become rigid, and sickle shaped.

"Sickled" cells, make it hard for blood to flow in the body. This can create a blockade, which then leads to pain. This is what doctors refer to as a SCD "crisis".

SCD warriors have to try to eat healthy diets, drink tons of water, and do other preventative things to stop crisis from happening. The effects of sickle cell are different from person to person, but can be crippling to many.
